Operail completes the sale of non-core rail assets

Operail, an international railway logistics company owned by the Government of the Republic of Estonia, has successfully completed the sale of its non-core assets, including 2,365 lease wagons of various types held by Operail Leasing and shares of its Finnish freight rail business Operail Finland with 9 Wabtec Powerhaul freight locomotives. The lease wagon portfolio was sold to 8 different buyers, mainly freight rail companies focusing on the 1520mm markets. Operail Finland was sold to Nurminen Logistics, leading freight rail forwarder and operator listed on Nasdaq Helsinki. 

Total sale proceeds from the transaction amounted to approximately EUR 79m. Superia acted as the sole financial adviser of Operail.
